Children’s Eyecare

Regular eye examinations are an important part of a child’s healthcare.
There are many different ways of assessing a child’s vision. We use pictures or matching letters for children who are too young to read. We determine if glasses are needed, check colour vision, binocular vision and make sure that the eyes are healthy.
It is recommended that children have an eye examination at the age of three and a half, or earlier if you think there may be a problem.
Children up to the age of 16 (or 19 if in full time education) are entitled to a free NHS eye examination.
An NHS optical voucher will be issued to help towards the cost of glasses.
Many of our children’s frames are FREE with the NHS voucher!

We will make sure your child feels great wearing glasses.

We have many brands including, STAR WARS REBELS, FROZEN, CONVERSE and Animal.

The NHS provides free eye tests and contributes to the cost of glasses for children under 16 years or under 19 and in full time education. The NHS voucher usually covers most if not all of the cost of glasses!
